In my Typography II course with Aki Nurosi, we were given the task of picking a famous type designer at random and researching their work. I picked Paul Renner, the designer of the immensely popular, geometric typeface, Futura. We were then asked to design an 18x24" poster and a series of four postcards that provided information on our chosen type designer and their most famous typeface.

Although Futura is one of the most famous typefaces ever designed, not many people are aware that there are alternate characters. I decided to highlight these alternate characters throughout my designs. The four postcards use the geometric characters as abstract design elements that connect once you line up the cards next to each other. The back of the cards also show the alphabet in a different weight of Futura to show the variations of the typeface.
